Music Ministry Mission Statement

We disciple Christians to sing boldly from their heart with thankfulness to God with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs that are beautiful, worshipful, liturgical, and truthful.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
(Col 3:16)

At Light of Christ we use The Hymnal of the Heart as a discipleship tool to give our parish one unified voice in our worship of God. The Hymnal of the Heart contains 100 classic, theologically rich hymns in the Anglican Tradition. All the hymns are not copyright, and therefore can be distributed and used freely. While we do not limit ourselves to these 100 hymns, you can now use this hymnal to train yourself and family in the best hymns of the Anglican Tradition. You can know that the majority of the songs we sing on Sunday will be the songs that you are also singing at home with family, in your small group, or in personal prayer time.

Below you will find further helpful resources as your work to memorize these 100 hymns and "let the word of Christ dwell in you richly."

“Speak to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs” (Eph. 5:19). Our song on earth is speech. It is the sung Word. Why do Christians sing when they are together? The reason is, quite simply, because in singing together it is possible for them to speak and pray the same Word at the same time; in other words, because here they can unite in the Word.
